Heres the Willits sign that Reno gave to them. The north bound side of the sign says "Gateway to the Redwoods". My school is literally 2 blocks west of this sign.
If you care to know more about my new home read this:
the sign at night
This place sorta reminds me of Leona Valley
Found this place online as a place to do a day hike. However it creeped me out. Grass was all overgrown like no one had been there in a long time. So I literally walked 20 feet down the trail and came back out....
This is as far as I got.
Here I met a lady on the Chamber of Commerce who was very helpful. Also here is a link to the Skunk Train....she said as a resident I will get 50% off the tickets!!! Cant wait to ride it!
Hard to see classrooms through the trees
Little more of the west side of campus
leaving Willits on HWY 20 west. Decided to go out to HWY 1 and come back home that way
Pulled over when I saw this little lake in the middle of no where
Fort Bragg, cool little coastal town. Plan on exploring it more once I move to Willits. Only 40 minutes away
Coastal Access pull off in Fort Bragg
umm I almost fell off this cliff while taking this picture...oops
I decided to stop at MacKerricher State Park on the way home since it was in Fort Bragg. It was free for day use and was a pretty area, however way too many people here for my liking. But glad I stopped and checked it out nonetheless.
Lake Cleone
Duck Butt!
I have a great video at the bottom of the ducks dunking for some food. Watch it!!
Awesome
Walking out to Laguna Point on the boardwalk
great tidepools here during low tide
Looking south from Laguna Point
On the road again. Pulled off at a couple spots to take some pictures, the trees on that bluff made me stop here
How do I go about buying that house on the bluff to the right?
This was cool
Similar terrain to my Sinkyone Wilderness trip....that is only 20-30 miles north of this
You can see where the road cuts in around that bend. Thats the last piece of HWY 1 on the coast, from there its a windy road through groves of redwoods. Amazing drive and well worth the extra 2 hrs.
